About fava and broad beans

Fava beans are good for weight loss, as they are low in calories but high in protein and fiber. One portion of 200g has only circa 200 calories, but contains in it 10 grams of fiber and 15 grams of protein. This combination makes you fell full quicker and for longer, helping you eat less without feeling hungry. Vegetable based proteins are definitely something you want to include in your weight loss diet.
- fava beans (boiled and peeled), about 500g
- fresh chopped parsley
- fresh copped mint
- fresh chopped marjoram
- extra virgin olive oil
- red chilli
Blend the fava beans together using a hand held blender, then add the garlic and red chilli, and blend for a few more seconds. Mix in the fresh herbs and olive oil and seasons with salt and pepper.
Serve cold or warm as a healthy dip or sandwich spread.
