Healthy Recipes for Weight Loss

Eating healthy is always important, but even more so when trying to lose weight. These are some of our favourite healthy recipes for weight loss.

Bean Chilaquiles

A classic Mexican breakfast which is also great as a way to use leftover tortillas. Ingredients include beans, salsa, eggs and tortillas. This is easy to prepare and will keep you feeling full for longer, as its packed with healthy protein.

Tuna Fish Cakes

Tuna fish is low in calories and rich in lean protein, which is great for weight loss. Eating lean Protein helps you feel full quicker and for longer, and helps you reduce food cravings. For canned tuna choose tuna which is packed in water rather than in oil. Adding potatoes, eggs, red onion, garlic and spices such as paprika to the tuna fish, create healthy fish cakes and back under a hot grill. Spanish Omelette

Eggs are a superfood, packed with nutrients and high quality protein. Eating healthy foods rich in high quality protein is important for weight loss and a healthy overall diet.

Eggs are rich in selenium, vitamin B2 and vitamin B12, and are packed with Choline, which is important in maintaining your cell membranes. Mackeral in garlic sauce

Omega 3 fatty acids are so important for a healthy diet, and Mackeral fish is packed with Omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin B12 and minerals.

Mackeral is rich in Selenium, low in harmful mercury as its further down in the food chain, rich in Vitamin D and good for your heart. There are several great recipes for tasty Mackeral.

Grilled Chicken

Choose skinless chicken thighs, as the skin has fat we can easily avoid. Choose fresh chicken over frozen chicken, to avoid any preservatives. Chicken meat is lean protein, rich in phosphorus and selenium.

Chicken can be grilled very easily, try packing alot of flavour using fresh herbs with the meat, left marinating for at least 4-6 hours before cooking. Herbs such as rosemary or basil. Try also spices such as paprika and ginger. A raw garlic and ginger paste will also be really nice with grilled chicken meat and is very healthy to eat regularly. Spices are known to help weight loss in a number of ways.
